ABOUT

Art is not a career, it’s a life - Andy Goldsworthy.

I have always had an eye for detail and passion for design. I have studied Art and Design at every opportunity, most recently receiving a First Class Bachelor of the Arts Degree, with Honours, in Graphic Design, from Nottingham Trent University in July 2022.

My artwork has been used all over the world, from local farms in Buckinghamshire, to exhibitions in Brazil. During my design career, my work has featured on Stefan Sagmeister’s Instagram page, been displayed in an open-air exhibition in São Paulo, Brazil, been placed in the Summer Exhibition in the D13 Gallery in Doncaster and has won a Binary Botanical competition.

Examples of Past Projects

Knitted Peace

The Brief:

To explore and celebrate a craft and all that could entail.

My Response:

To investigate the purpose and power of knitting throughout history by creating a knitted blanket that allows the audience to physically embrace themselves in this craftwork. The blanket demonstrates the significance of knit during challenging periods in our history, during the World Wars, and uses symbolic imagery relating to a current event, the war in Ukraine.

Throughout the blanket I handknitted include multiple hidden messages through symbols and morse code.

City Soles

The Brief:

Choose an artefact or routine that interests you. Look at it from perspectives you haven’t considered before, discover it in different ways.

The Response:

Explore the unnoticed and under-appreciated aspect of shoe soles. Research and understand each individual shoe’s history and purpose to create a meaningful campaign for Farfetch which is tailored to a particular shoe and specific city to which the shoe has interesting connections.

Density

The Brief:

Create something ‘beautiful’ from two distinctly different things.

My Response:

Oil and water. They are opposites in many ways yet collide so frequently in everyday life. Oil spills, cooking, painting to name a few. Inspired by the beauty, yet destructive and damaging qualities of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, a home furnishing collection flurished. The brand ‘Density’ features handmade patterns, created from hydrodipping, to create a cohesive collection based on the opposite properties of oil and water; their colour, density, they repel.

Maison Maioli

Having seen my typographic designs on Instagram, this London based florist approached me to create a unique and personalised piece of artwork to hang in her shop.

Each letter has a flower inter-twinned, each flower is hand drawn, digitally using the iPad software, Procreate.

Print & Press Festival

The Brief:

The abstract brief was to create a festival that will take place in Leeds, UK and create 3 pieces of branding for this festival.

This was live brief provided by a design agency that came into my university.

Starveall Farm

The owner of Starveall Farm, in Buckinghamshire, has recently modernised and expanded his business. Whilst working with him he has set me a range of briefs.

- Designing new box designs for turkey and geese produce.

- Letterhead design

- Large scale wall art

- Outdoor advertising billboards.
